The Pond
I went to the pond for a field trip. My class and I saw lots of cool things. When I was on the naturewalk I saw a lot of different mushrooms. We also saw poison ivy growing up trees. I wouldn’t go near it because I hate itching poison ivy all day. The pond itself was a sight to see because of its half clear side and half duckweed side. The duckweed side was gross. In the pond I saw ducks with little babies. They were so cute. Also in the center was an aerator. This is what I saw.
I heard a lot of things too! Mostly I heard leaves crumbling under my feet. The water in the pond was loud when people threw stuff in it. The animals we saw made sounds too! Frogs croaked, ducks quacked, and birds chirped. We heard a lot of sounds.
At the pond I felt a lot of things. The water in the pond was cold. When we scooped buckets I got gooey duckweed on my fingers. The wind blew cold and I got mud on my pants. I felt icky.
I learned some things about the pond. Its ecosystem is a forest like area. The pond has animals like tadpoles, fish, frogs, and woodchucks. We also learned about the decomposers around the pond. It has a lot of mushrooms. I thought learning about the aerator was interesting. It makes the pond a better habitat for animals.
The pond was so much fun and I wish I could go again! Next time I go, I am going to try to learn more!
